April Outings For Your and Your Pup

Spring is here and so are dog-friendly events worth checking out! Here’s a roundup of some paw-some activities happening this month:​


1. Lowcountry Strawberry Festival at Boone Hall Plantation

  • Dates: April 4-6 and 11-13, 2025​

  • Location: Boone Hall Plantation ​

  • Description: Celebrate the strawberry season with a festival featuring live entertainment. While the festival offers various attractions, be sure to check ahead regarding specific dog-friendly areas and activities.


2. Dining for a Cause at FortyEight Wine Bar

  • Date: April 8, 2025, 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM​

  • Location: FortyEight - Wine Bar & Kitchen, Kiawah Island

  • Description: Dine with your pup and support the Charleston Animal Society. A portion of the evening's proceeds will be donated to the organization. Make your reservation today! 


3. Woofstock: A Lowcountry Dog Music Festival

  • Date: April 12, 2025​

  • Location: Hanahan Amphitheater, Charleston, SC

  • Description: Leash up your pup and come out to listen to live music and support local rescues at this annual event! There will be food trucks and local vendors. Outside food, beverages, and coolers aren't permitted. Lawn chairs and blankets are allowed.


4. Local Fund Fest

  • Date: April 12, 2025, starting at 2:00 PM​

  • Location: The Rickhouse, 1734 Signal Point Road, Charleston, SC 29412​

  • Description: Enjoy a day filled with live music from 11 bands, a vendor village, silent auction, dunk tank, and a dog show. This event supports Southern Tails for Precious Paws, a local animal rescue organization. Tickets are $15, and your leashed dog is welcome to join the fun! ​

5. 2nd Sunday on King Street

  • Date: April 13, 2025​

  • Location: King Street, Charleston, SC​

  • Description: Leashed dogs are welcome at this monthly event along King Street, between Queen and Calhoun Streets. The street becomes a pedestrian zone where visitors can stroll freely, check out local businesses, enjoy outdoor shopping, admire artwork from curated artists, and indulge in offerings from food vendors.
